Delivered at Bayes Business School by our leading academic experts, this short programme will help you better navigate the complexities of the business world.

Course overview

Day 1 – Friday 24th May 2024 – Creativity and Innovation in Business

This day will be all about creativity and innovation in your business.

Delivered by Dr Sara Jones, a Reader in Creative Interactive System Design, you will explore all areas of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

The day will cover innovation in the context of a craft business, your business model and includes some practical exercises to get you thinking differently about the future of your business.

Day 2 – Friday 7th June 2024 – Business Knowledge and Skills for a Craft Business

This day is all about innovation for scaling and growth.

The first part of this day will be delivered by Dr Ruben van Werven, a Senior Lecturer in Entrepreneurship. During this interactive session you will discuss revenue models and their link to growth. You will also do exercises on pitching your business to both customers and potential investors.

In the afternoon, you will be taught by Professor Costas Andriopoulos, a Professor in Innovation and Entrepreneurship. During this session, you will learn best practices for managing the innovation process, how to expand market reach and how you can use customer service as a source of competitive advantage.

Day 3 – Friday 21st June 2024 – Marketing and Value Creation in a Digital Age

On the final day of the course, you will gain new knowledge and skills to understand digital marketing and how to gain new customers.

The first part of the day will be delivered by Dr Jingshi (Joyce) Liu, a Lecturer in Marketing. During this session, you will explore the ever-evolving digital marketing landscape and learn about utilising social media, paid advertising, and SEO and how to create content for these platforms.

In the afternoon, you will be taught by Dr Nettra Pan, a Lecturer in Entrepreneurship. In this session, you will learn about the properties of technology and recent technological change and how these created new opportunities for value creation.

Together, we will discuss what a future-proof version of your businesses could look like and what individual skills are needed to make this vision a reality.

This course is available on a modular or a full course basis, so you can attend one day or the full three-day short course depending on your business knowledge and objectives.
