Bayes Business School named as a top five UK business school by Financial Times ranking

Bayes moves up in annual ranking of European business schools.

Bayes Business School (formerly Cass) has risen into the top five business schools in the UK, according to the Financial Times European Business Schools of 2023 Ranking.

The annual ranking combines weighted scores from across the Financial Times’ MBA, Executive MBA, Master’s in Management and Executive Education rankings from the calendar year.

The latest league table also ranks Bayes as the 27th in Europe – up two places from a year ago – and 2nd in London, up one place from 2022.

Earlier this year, Bayes placed third in the UK and climbed nine spots to 41 in the world in the Financial Times’ MSc in Management ranking. Meanwhile, the School rose 14 places to 40th in the world in the publication’s annual Executive MBA ranking, while ranking 7th in the UK and 19th in Europe in the Global MBA ranking.

Bayes Executive Education courses also ranked inside the UK’s top 10.

Each ranking uses pre-experience data from alumni based on quality of teaching, diversity of classes, and salary and career progression among other measures.

Professor André Spicer, Dean of Bayes Business School, said:

“I am proud to see an overall improvement of our ranking across Europe in 2023, which is testament to the hard work we’ve put in to ensure our postgraduate programmes meet and exceed student expectations, helping them to kickstart their careers in business and finance.

“This result corroborates other very positive rankings we’ve enjoyed throughout the last 18 months across research and different levels of study, including our outstanding Research Excellence Framework 2021 (REF) result of 5th in the UK and the excellent ratings of our marketing, management and accounting & finance programmes in the Complete University Guide 2024.

“Alongside research that is at the cutting edge of practice, our approach is to balance theory and practice in our approach to teaching. Students can tailor learning towards their individual ambitions and career aspirations, while learning in the heart of the City of London’s Square Mile – home to the Bank of England and many of the world’s leading finance and tech start-ups.”

The Financial Times European Business Schools ranking is calculated by apportioning a 25 per cent weighting for each of the MBA, Executive MBA and Master’s in Management rankings for the year, along with the Financial Times’ two executive education rankings which each account for 12.5 per cent. Schools must have a minimum total weight of 25 out of a possible 100 for all five rankings to be eligible.
