Admissions

Entry requirements

At Bayes we look for ambitious executives or entrepreneurs from culturally diverse backgrounds, who are looking to become business leaders of the future.

Work experience

A minimum of four years’ full-time professional experience, gained after graduation.

Academic requirement

Either a good undergraduate degree (upper second class honours degree (2:1) or above) or substantial and relevant work experience and/or professional qualifications as an alternative to a first degree.

GMAT/GRE

Most applicants will not be required to take GMAT/GRE. If we need further information on your academic capacity for the programme, or your current motivation to study, we may request that you take GMAT/GRE.

English language requirement

It is essential that all MBA students have an excellent command of English as we welcome students from around 100 different nations every year to study with us here at Bayes.  If English is not your first language, you will need to sit an IELTS, PTE, LanguageCert or TOEFL exam (IELTS preferred).

In some cases the English requirement can be waived (eg if you have worked or studied in an English speaking country for over a year). Please contact our Admissions team for more information.

IELTS Academic and SELT (UKVI)

We require a minimum, well balanced score of 7.0 in IELTS Academic, with no less than 6.5 in each individual section. We also accept the IELTS Indicator test with the same minimum scores. Please note that we accept IELTS Academic tests taken at test centres that are not included on UKVI's SELT list.

Pearson Test of English (PTE) Academic

We require an overall score of 69 with a minimum of 62 in Writing and no less than 60 in any other section, in-person or online. We do not accept PTE General.

LanguageCert International ESOL C1 Expert

We require a Pass in both the Written (Listening, Reading, Writing) and Spoken (Speaking) exams, in-person or online.

TOEFL iBT and TOEFL at home

We require a minimum, well-balanced overall score of 100 with a minimum of 25 in Writing and Speaking, 24 in Reading and 22 in Listening in the TOEFL iBT test (in-person or online). Scores must be achieved within a single test, not MyBest scores. We do not accept the TOEFL Essentials or TOEFL ITP Plus for China tests. You will need to make your TOEFL score available to us using code 0870.

How to apply

The application form is completed online and is designed to allow you to complete it over several sessions, allowing to submit your application when you are ready.

You will also need to provide the following in support of your application –

Personal statement

This is your opportunity to provide further information about your experience, why you want to undertake the Bayes Executive MBA in Dubai and your aspirations post-EMBA. Please note we have specific questions which are available in the online application.

CV

Your one or two page CV is uploaded as part of the online application form. Please provide reasons for significant gaps in employment history within the application. Please see our recommended CV template.

GMAT or GRE results (if applicable)

Most applicants will not be required to take GMAT/GRE. If we need further information on your academic capacity for the programme, or your current motivation to study, we may request that you take GMAT/GRE.

English language results (if applicable)

Your IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or LanguageCert score report, if English is not your first language. In some cases the English requirement can be waived (eg if you have worked or studied in an English speaking country for over a year).

Professional references

We require two references from suitable sources on our reference form in support of your application to the programme.

One reference should usually be from your current employer, and the other from a previous employer.  Referees must be senior to you and able to comment on your work and suitability for MBA study. If you work for a family business or are self-employed, a reference from a client will also be suitable. If you are not supplying the details of your current employer, please explain why in the extenuating circumstances section of the personal statement.

We cannot accept references from colleagues, personal friends or family members.

Although your referees will receive an electronic request, it is our experience that referees respond more quickly if the candidate sends the reference form directly to them as well.

Copy of your university documents

A certified copy* of your degree certificate, and transcripts detailing the courses studied and grades attained.

All supporting documentation must be in English. If documents need to be translated, i.e. transcript(s) and references, please send a certified copy of the original document with a certified translation.

* A certified copy is a document that has been stamped and verified as a true copy by a legal authority (e.g. notary office). If you are having certified copies made, please ensure that you include any explanation of grades that may be printed on the reverse.

Application fee

An application processing fee of £100 (please see below how to pay the fee online). This fee can be waived for City University or Bayes Business School alumni.

You can pay your application fee online and we accept the following cards: Mastercard, Maestro, Solo, Switch, Visa, Visa Delta and Visa Electron.

Pay the application fee online

You will be given a reference number upon payment; please make a note of this and enter it when prompted on the online application form. Please note that we cannot begin to process your application until we have received your application fee.

Please ensure that you complete all sections of the online application form in full, as incomplete application forms cannot be considered and can reflect badly on the applicant.

We encourage you to submit a complete application which includes all items on the checklist above, as this means that your application can be processed more speedily.  Please bear in mind that we are unable to consider your application until it is complete.
