UK and other qualifications

'A' Level

Entry requirement:

  • BSc Actuarial Science: A (Mathematics) AA
  • All other degrees: AAA

Welsh Baccalaureate

Entry requirement:

  • BSc Accounting and Finance: Pass the Core of the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate plus grades AA at A Level, GCSE maths grade A and GCSE English grade C.
  • BSc Actuarial Science: Pass the Core of the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate plus grades AA at A Level (A in Maths) and GCSE English grade C.
  • All other degrees: Pass the Core of the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate plus grades AA at A Level, GCSE maths grade A and GCSE English grade C.

International Baccalaureate

Entry requirement:

  • Accounting & Finance: 35 points overall with at least 18 points across three Higher Level subjects. Please note that we are happy to accept both Maths Analysis & Approaches and Maths Applications & Interpretations.
  • Actuarial Science: 35 points overall with at least 18 points across three Higher Level subjects, with minimum 6 in Higher Level Maths. Please note that we are happy to accept both Maths Analysis & Approaches and Maths Applications & Interpretations.
  • All other degrees: 35 points overall with at least 18 points across three Higher Level subjects, including either HL4 or SL5 in both Mathematics and English. Please note that we are happy to accept both Maths Analysis & Approaches and Maths Applications & Interpretations.

BTEC

Qualification: BTEC Level 3 (18 unit) Diploma/Extended Diploma (Business related subjects)

Entry requirement:

  • BSc Actuarial Science: DDD plus A Level Maths grade A and GCSE English Language grade 5
  • All other degrees: DDD plus GCSE Maths grade 7 and GCSE English Language grade 5.

Access

Qualification: Access to Higher Education (Business related courses)

Entry requirement:

  • BSc Accounting and Finance: Pass the Access course with 45 Level 3 credits including 30 distinctions and 15 Merits, plus GCSE Maths grade 7 and GCSE English Language grade 5
  • BSc Actuarial Science: Pass the Access course with 45 Level 3 credits including 30 Distinctions and 15 Merits, plus A Level Maths grade A and GCSE English Language 5
  • All other degrees: Pass the Access course with 45 Level 3 credits including 30 Distinctions and 15 merits, plus GCSE Maths grade 6 and GCSE English Language grade 5

IFS Diploma in Financial Studies

Entry requirement:

All degrees (except BSc Actuarial Science): Accepted as an alternative to one GCE A Level subject.

A typical offer would be grade A in the IFS Diploma, plus AA at A Level

Cambridge International Level 3 Pre - U Certificate

Entry requirement:

  • BSc Accounting and Finance: D3, D3, D3, with GCSE Maths grade 7 and GCSE English Language grade 5
  • BSc Actuarial Science: D3, D3, D3 including Maths, plus GCSE English Language 5
  • All other degrees: D3, D3, D3, plus GCSE Maths grade 6 and GCSE English Language grade 5

European Baccalaureate

Entry requirement:

  • BSc Accounting and Finance: 80% Overall with 85% in Maths and an English language qualification
  • BSc Actuarial Science: 80% Overall with 85% in Maths and an English language qualification
  • All other degrees: 80% Overall with 80% in Maths & an English language qualification

Scottish Highers

Entry requirement:

  • BSc Accounting and Finance: AAA at Advanced Higher plus AA at Higher (must include Maths grade A if taken at Higher and not Advanced level, and English at either level)
  • BSc Actuarial Science: AAA at Advanced Higher (must include Maths at Advanced Higher) plus AA at Higher (must include English at either level)
  • All other degrees: AAA at Advanced Higher plus AA at Higher (must include Maths and English at either level)
