Preparing for induction week

We’re looking forward to welcoming our new cohort of MSc students soon and hope you’re excited to start your journey with us. In this blog, we share insight into what you can expect during induction week and how to prepare to join us for your master's degree.

Pre-study careers course

Your dedicated careers support with us begins from before you even start your studies. Once you have secured your offer with us and pay your deposit, you will be given access to the Pre-Study Careers Course. This course enables students to start preparing for recruitment processes and gaining an understanding of what career support is available at Bayes.

Over the summer, we will also be hosting exclusive careers workshops for MSc students to attend, all dates and links are included within the Pre-Study Careers Course.

Deposit payers will be sent log in details via email, and the site can be found here.

During Induction week

During your first week with us, you will have welcome talks on 11th and 12th September to welcome you to your department, find out more about your course and what to expect from your time at Bayes. These are followed by a drinks reception where you can meet your peers, teachers and get to know each other.

Details of these welcome talks and any pre-materials are available on the induction portal. Access to the induction portal will be shared with offer holders via email with a link and password, so be sure to keep an eye on your inbox!

Across induction week, students will have access to a number of careers workshops and events, including a LinkedIn masterclass, industry overviews, networking skill development, and a CV and cover letter workshop.

There will also be 2 opportunities to link with potential employers, firstly through our Careers Kickstarter event on the 15th September. This will involve a half day of activities designed to give you a kickstart in your career journey, including workshops, panels and an opportunity to meet and start networking with alumni from your courses.
