How to make the most of your MSc information session

We are thrilled to be able to invite those interested in a master’s degree at Bayes to our Bunhill Row campus for in-person information sessions again. We look forward to meeting you, showing you our facilities, introducing you to our teaching staff and admissions team and discussing your future.

This is a fantastic opportunity for you to gain insight into the experience of a master’s student at Bayes, picture yourself here and have any of your questions answered. Here are some tips on how to best prepare for the event and make the most of the evening…

1. Plan your travel

Like most events, preparation and planning is key! Bayes Business School is located between the Square Mile and Tech City, at 106 Bunhill Row. It is just a short walk from Moorgate, Liverpool Street and Old Street stations, with the City of London on our doorstep. Whilst London is still a fair bit quieter these days, it’s best to plan your route in advance to make sure you’re aware of train times and the stops you need. If you join us early enough, you will be able to join a tour of our Bunhill Row teaching facility led by one of our current master’s students. These will take place from 18:00 onwards.

2. Take note

During the event, we will share a lot of information with you about Bayes Business School and also your particular course. Over the course of the evening, you will experience a campus tour, presentations and informal discussions and it can be quite a lot to remember. Our best advice is to avoid becoming overwhelmed with information and to take note of any points of interest so that you can refer back to them after you’ve left. Bring along a notepad, tablet or laptop to note down any key points you want to keep in mind.

3. Make a list of questions

There is nothing worse than leaving an event and remembering something you wanted to say the moment you step through the door at home. During this event you will meet with teaching staff on your course and also have the opportunity to have informal discussions with admissions staff, current students and careers staff. Don’t miss your chance, prepare a list of your questions beforehand and bring this along to make sure you get all of the answers you need about the Bayes master’s experience.

4. Consider your future

At Bayes, we have a dedicated Postgraduate Careers Team who are in touch with you throughout your master’s degree to guide you through CV writing, interviews, assessment centres and how to put your best foot forward. Our Postgraduate Careers Team will be joining our information session to deliver a presentation and also for the informal drinks reception. Before the event, this is a wonderful opportunity to take some time to think about your aspirations for the future. You can use this opportunity to discuss your chosen career path with our careers staff, understand the partnerships and connections we have in your chosen industry and see how your master’s may help you to achieve your goals.
