New scholarships available for MSc in Corporate Risk Management

The Institute of Risk Management (IRM) Educational Foundation will support two students at Bayes Business School

The Institute of Risk Management (IRM) Educational Foundation and Bayes Business School have established a scholarship scheme for students studying the MSc in Corporate Risk Management. Under the scheme, two academically excellent students will have their fees paid in full based on an evaluation of their financial needs.

The IRM Educational Foundation supports students in need of financial assistance to pursue risk management training and education, and its mission is to enable broad access to and participation in risk management. In particular, the Foundation helps individuals, wherever and whoever they are, to access quality risk management education.

This close collaboration between the IRM and Bayes Business School builds on the recent accreditation of the MSc in Corporate Risk Management, meaning that students may be awarded the IRM International Diploma in Risk Management upon graduating from Bayes. For 30 years, the IRM's International Diploma in Risk Management has been the global choice of qualification for risk professionals and their employers - the gold standard qualification.

Iain Wright, Interim Chair of the IRM Educational Foundation, said:

“The Institute of Risk Management is the leading professional body for Enterprise Risk Management, providing globally recognised qualifications and training, underpinned by professional standards. Education is at the heart of the Institute’s activities.

“To further the accessibility of risk education, in particular in supporting students who may not have the ability to pursue their studies, the Institute established the IRM Educational Foundation. I am very pleased that our inaugural relationship is to support two students study for the Bayes MSc in Corporate Risk Management, an internationally recognised leader in its field.”

Dr Cormac Bryce, Course Director of the MSc in Corporate Risk Management at Bayes, commented:

“We are delighted to have this generous support from the IRM Educational Foundation for the MSc in Corporate Risk Management degree. Launching this academic year, the programme will equip students with the skills and knowledge to address the universe of financial and non-financial risks that corporations may face as they attempt to meet their strategic objectives. Coupled with the exemption from the IRM International Diploma, it will further strengthen our links with the risk management community.”

Dr Simone Krummaker, Associate Dean for the MSc Programmes at Bayes, said:

“Our master’s degrees at Bayes Business School have strong links with industry and the professions. I’m pleased that the School is continuing to develop its important relationship with the IRM Educational Foundation, and I thank them for extending this opportunity to our future students.”
