Professor Marianne Lewis visits Hong Kong

Dean’s visit enhances relationship with Chinese alumni community

Professor Marianne Lewis, Dean of Cass Business School, recently visited Hong Kong, to meet with senior alumni, including Professor Liu Mingkang, to discuss ways that Cass can continue to provide focused support for its valued alumni community in China.

Cass has 3351 alumni in China and Hong Kong.  It provides specific support and training for Chinese students at its London campus through the Chinese Careers Society where postgraduate students can get tailored advice to the Chinese employment market, keep in touch with alumni and Cass Careers professionals via WeChat and develop the professional and soft skills that global employers require.  There is also continued support for the alumni community in China through Academic masterclasses and Professional Development skills sessions, as well as opportunities to attend networking events.

Professor Lewis said although many Chinese students would return home at the end of their studies, many also choose to stay and work in London, or other global cities, and it is important that they have the skills they need to navigate the modern workplace.

“The comprehensive range of professional development workshops, personal career guidance and online resources that we provide for our students help them build their own personal strategy and hone the key skills that they need to progress in their careers.  Over 900 Chinese alumni attended events last year and we are very proud of this engaged and supportive community.”
