Information for applicants

After you have made your application

  • The majority of applications will receive a decision within 6-8 weeks of application submission. Applicants who apply by UCAS’s Equal Consideration deadline of January 31 2024 will receive a decision on their application by no later than April 12 2024.
  • As soon as a decision has been made on your application, this will be communicated to UCAS and the details will be made available for you to view on UCAS Hub.
  • Following your application, you will receive either a conditional offer, unconditional offer, a change of course offer, or an unsuccessful decision.
  • If you have been made a conditional offer, the conditions of your offer will be clearly stated on UCAS Hub. This may include sending evidence of obtained results (such as GCSE’s) so we recommend that you read your offer conditions carefully, and contact us on bayesug@city.ac.uk if anything is unclear. Please ensure that your UCAS Personal ID number is included in your email.
  • Applicants receiving a change of course offer will be emailed prior to the decision being transmitted to UCAS, explaining why they have received a change of course offer along with information about the new course.
  • If you have received an unsuccessful decision, a summary of the reason for this will be made available to you on UCAS Hub. If you would like further feedback on the decision, please send a written request to our admissions office who can be reached on bayesug@city.ac.uk. Please ensure that your UCAS Personal ID number is included in your email.

After you have received an offer to study with us

  • You may wish to get to know the university by attending either a virtual or guided in-person tour. Please visit our Campus tours page to see available dates and book your place.
  • The university offers a variety of online and in-person information sessions throughout the year, aimed at both applicants and offer holders. Details of upcoming online events will be published on our Undergraduate online events page.
  • Offer holders will be contacted by email with information regarding virtual and in-person offer holder events
  • As an offer holder, you will receive information regarding the accommodation options offered by the university. In the meantime, you can find information regarding accommodation, including the options available and how to apply on our Accommodation and housing page.
  • If you are an international student requiring a CAS number in order to apply for a student route visa, please note that we can only issue CAS numbers to students holding unconditional offers. We do not issue CAS numbers more than three months prior to the course start date, so CAS numbers are typically issued from June/July onwards for students commencing their studies in September. You may find the university’s guidance on the CAS issuing process useful.
  • We do not require a deposit to be paid at any stage of the application process, either to secure your place or to issue your CAS number.

Replying to your offers (choosing firm and insurance choices)

You must reply to your offers by the UCAS deadline by choosing which will be your firm and insurance choices - and which ones you will decline. You can do this via UCAS Hub.

If you have any queries about your application, you should check UCAS Hub. If you would still like to speak to someone, please contact the Admissions Team:
