Evening Executive MBA application guide

As soon as you submit an application it will be processed and there is no need to wait until the next deadline.

Once your application is complete and meets our entry requirements, it will be reviewed by the admissions panel and if successful you will be invited for an interview with a member of faculty.

The whole process from complete application to final decision typically takes 4 - 6 weeks.

Evening Executive MBA Admissions process

  1. Start your online application

    • Create an account on our online application form and fill out your personal details, recent employment history, and education history.
  2. Prepare your personal statement

    • The personal statement is your opportunity to provide further information about your experience, why you want to undertake the Bayes Evening Executive MBA and your aspirations post-EMBA. Please note we have specific questions which are available in the online application.
  3. Upload your supporting documents

    Upload your CV

    • Your one or two page CV is uploaded as part of the online application form. Please provide reasons for significant gaps in employment history in the extenuating circumstances section of the personal statement. Please see our recommended CV template.

Contact details of two professional references

    • We require two references on our reference form in support of your application to the programme.
    • One reference should usually be from your current employer, and the other from a previous employer, using work email addresses.
    • We cannot accept references from colleagues, personal friends or family members, and we do not normally accept references from a personal email address (eg Gmail).  If your referee is unable to provide a work email address, they should explain why in the 'any other information' section of the reference form.
    • Referees must be senior to you and able to comment on your work and suitability for MBA study. If you work for a family business or are self-employed, a reference from a client will also be suitable. If you are not supplying the details of your current employer, please explain why in the Extenuating circumstances section of the personal statement.
    • Although your referees will receive an electronic request, it is our experience that referees respond more quickly if the candidate also sends the link to the online reference form directly to them.

Copy of your university documents or equivalent

    • Your degree certificate (diploma) and transcript for each degree you have studied.  A transcript is the document listing the individual subjects that you studied during your degree, and the grade you received for each one.  We require certified translated copies of each document if they are not in in English.

    English language results (if applicable)

    • Your IELTS, TOEFL, PTE or LanguageCert score report, if English is not your first language. In some cases the English requirement can be waived (eg if you have worked or studied in an English speaking country for over a year).
  4. Check if you need a visa

    • If you will require a visa for your Evening Executive MBA, the most suitable route is a Standard Visitor visa.
    • The Standard Visitor visa is suitable if you have a full-time job in your home country and will be travelling regularly to the UK to study over long-weekends.
    • Once you have accepted a place on the programme and paid a deposit, the admissions team will be able to issue you with a letter to enable you to apply for your visa.
  5. Pay the application fee

A £100 application processing fee is required (the fee is waived for City, University of London, Bayes Business School and University of London alumni). We cannot begin to process your application until we have received your application fee.  You can pay your application fee online and we accept the following cards: MasterCard, Maestro, Solo, Switch, Visa, Visa Delta and Visa Electron.
  6. Pay the application fee online.

  7. Submit your completed application

    • Carefully review your application for accuracy and ensure you have provided all the required documents and information before submitting.
    • You can track the status of your application via e:Vision.
  8. Interview if shortlisted

    • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview with a member of faculty.
    • Be prepared to discuss your motivations, goals and fit for the programme. This will normally be via Zoom or in-person.
  9. Admissions decision

After the interview, the Admissions Panel will consider your application together with the interviewer's report and you will be notified of our decision by email.
