Why did you choose to study MSc Mathematical Trading and Finance at Bayes Business School?

I chose Bayes Business School because I wanted to pursue my career in Algorithmic Trading and the School is a well-known institution that is recognised for its merit around the globe. Also, I studied my BSc at Bayes, accomplishing a degree in Investment and Financial Risk management.

My favourite memory about the course was working on my dissertation which has helped me to apply all of my acquired knowledge in a real world algorithmic strategy design.

I also enjoyed the mathematical part of the course and, in particular, was very passionate about Stochastic Modelling Methods for Finance with Laura Ballotta.

This course has helped me to secure my first job as a Quantitative Developer as I have gained significant modelling skills from my core modules, as well as in my current job, which heavily relies on understanding and pricing Options.

Currently, I work as an Options Trader on an Index Prop desk in the leading Proprietary Trading shop (Mako Trading, London).

What advice would you have for students considering studying their master’s at Bayes Business School?

I would advise prospective students to focus on understanding all the small details rather than studying for passing exams, especially relevant to Advanced Derivatives Trading module, as it really gives you a significant edge on the market.
