Why did you choose to study Quantitative Finance at Bayes Business School?
I wanted to deepen my understanding of the application of mathematics and statistics to finance. This was a curiosity of mine that developed during my undergraduate study in Economics, especially when I came across the Black-Scholes model for option pricing.
As my interest heightened in this area of study, I became more inquisitive with the theory and mathematical modelling surrounding the subject matter.
When searching for an MSc to fulfil my heightened curiosity, I found the Quantitative Finance programme at Bayes Business School, which offered an equal blend of the theoretical and the practical part, which was the right balance for me to fuel my knowledge.
The programme might be challenging at the beginning, but the professors are very supportive and are willing to go the extra mile in order for you to grasp the content and feel comfortable.
During my studies, the modules I enjoyed the most were the modules taught by Professor Laura Ballota and Professor Giovanni Urga. Additionally, at Bayes, we are all one big family, all students are supportive, and you will never feel left out.
How has your master’s has impacted your career and your career goals?
Currently, I work as an Analyst at an international bank in London.
The MSc has provided me with a critical understanding of the world of Quantitative Finance and aided me to develop my technical and soft skills, such as identifying, forecasting and managing risk and discovering the importance and the thought-provoking nature of the financial industry
What advice would you have for students considering Quantitative Finance?
- It’s never too late!
