I am thrilled to be appointed CEO of FirstCaribbean International Bank. This role brings together all of my experience over the past 30 years in financial services and I am delighted to take on this exciting leadership position.

I am strongly committed to our bank’s values of trust, teamwork and accountability and intend to lead our team in continuing to build an engaging environment where all employees are respected and recognized for their unique talents and perspectives.

CEO of CIBC FirstCaribbean, Colette Delany

CIBC FirstCaribbean is a relationship bank offering a full range of market leading financial services, located in 17 countries around the Caribbean, and is part of the CIBC group, a leading Canadian-based global financial institution.

Speaking about her vision of what she wants to achieve as CEO, she said:

I want this bank to provide the best employee experience and the best client experience because I firmly believe that the two go hand in hand.  CIBC FirstCaribbean is already on a path to creating a strongly client-centric business and I will continue to look for opportunities that position our clients and our company for sustainable, long-term growth. We will ensure that every decision we make, every process we have in place considers the impact on our clients and how we can most efficiently and effectively deliver value.

Our focus is on developing and enhancing our client relationships and on working together to simplify the way in which we interact with each other and with our clients to provide a modern everyday banking experience

We’re also working to create an environment where all employees are able to develop and excel – I mean this in every sense. How we treat each other and the level of trust and respect we build with each other and with our clients is what will make the difference.

Ms Delaney said she has used her Cass MBA throughout her career.

The MBA at Cass provided me with a great foundation on which my over 30 years of experience in the financial services industry has been built. During my career, I have worked in and had accountability for a variety of disciplines across the organization from Product, Marketing, Risk Management and Sales and Origination.  Now as CEO, I also have accountability for the capital and liquidity and funding position of the Bank.   I have been able to lever the broad knowledge base which I acquired at Cass to make sure that I am asking the right questions to lead our team to making the right decisions.
