Overview
Patrick Hallila is a PhD candidate in Management at Bayes Business School. He holds a BSc in Engineering from Aalto University and an MSc in Management from Bayes Business School. Before joining Bayes, Patrick worked as an R&D engineer in the construction industry and later as a strategy consultant.
His research interests are in competitive strategy and organizational designs. He has two streams of work. First, he uses sports settings, such as MotoGP, NHL and NBA, to study how external competition affects firms' ability to benefit from internal competition. Second, he uses social media platforms, such as podcasters, to study how internal competition can intensify firms' responses to external competition.
