Research
My research focuses on an overarching research question: How do firm and individual knowledge affect decision making and performance?
I am particularly interested in the role of broadly applicable, general, and abstract knowledge.
I have explored this question with conceptual as well as empirical research (observational studies, and natural and field experiments).
I have focused on four main areas:
* The relationship between knowledge scope and the ability to capture value from ideas
* The relationship between firms’ knowledge scope and their vertical and horizontal boundaries -This research stream has been funded with a grant from the UK Economic and Social Research Council (Future Research Leaders Grant, 2012, £212,000)
* The relationship between firms’ knowledge and their relationships with stakeholders
* The relationship between knowledge and entrepreneurial performance
- This research stream has been funded with a grant from the UK Government Department of Business, Energy, and Industrial Strategy (Business Basics Grant, 2018, £387,000)
