Bayes’ ground-breaking and highly-respected Faculty of Actuarial Science and Insurance (FASI) can trace its roots back to the launch of the UK’s first BSc in Actuarial Science in 1974.

We’re marking the 50th anniversary through the 2024/25 academic year. You can find out here about a series of special events.
A highlight is the 27 November event FASI@50, when The FT’s data supremo (and City St George’s alumnus) John Burn-Murdoch will give a talk around fairness in a time of demographic change. A panel of illustrious alumni and current and former academics will discuss ‘learning from our past to forecast the future’.
