Bayes Alumni Awards
Launched in 2024, the Bayes Alumni Awards recognise the outstanding achievements of our alumni community. The awards highlight the many ways in which our alumni make a positive, tangible impact on the world and society.
Celebrating those who innovate, those who lead, our experts and volunteers, all alumni are encouraged to nominate themselves, or a fellow alumni for an award. Alumni can also be nominated by current staff members.

Award Categories
Society Impact Award
The Bayes Vision seeks to develop inquisitive practitioners who positively impact business and the professions to benefit society.
This award recognises those who have had significant impact on our society, positively impacting the lives of others, locally or internationally.
- Tangible evidence of having created a positive societal impact, they may have been through a project or programme
- Impact may have come through business or voluntary work
- Evidence of impact on people at a local or international level
Entrepreneur and Innovation Award
This award celebrates alumni who have shown exceptional entrepreneurial skill and business acumen and use this to make the world a better place. They act as an example to others looking to start their own businesses.
- Have founded (or co-founded) a business
- Evidence that their business has significant positive impact
- Evidence of an innovative approach to a problem or industry
Leadership Award
Brilliant leaders are the backbone of business and professions. This award recognises those who have shown exceptional leadership.
Able to empower and motivate others, they lead with conviction and courage and are ready to update their views and act with determination when they uncover relevant new insights.
- A role model to fellows and peers
- Committed to supporting and mentoring new talent
- Evidence of exceptional leadership, enabling success for their business and/or projects
Rising Star Award
At Bayes we work to build up the leaders of tomorrow. This category celebrates recent graduates who have shown leadership and skill in their chosen profession.
Inspirational to others, driven and with strong integrity they are the next generation of leaders.
- Graduated from Bayes within the last 10 years
- Making significant contributions to advancing their field
- Are inspiring role models to other recent graduates
Professional Expertise Award
This award seeks to recognise those who are pushing boundaries of practice or professional knowledge.
Well established their field, they use their talents and curiosity to add new and vital insights to their sector.
Whether through publishing papers, speaking at conferences or being an expert in their industry, they build and share their knowledge with society.
- Evidence that they have transformed their field, challenged boundaries or developed innovative solutions
- Evidence of sharing their knowledge with others
- Recognition from peers and the wider industry or profession
Robert Legget Award - Volunteer of the Year
Named after Robert Legget, long standing Chairman of the Bayes Alumni Board, this award recognises alumni who have supported the Business School through volunteering.
Through activities such as guest lecturing, speaking as part of a careers event or being an international ambassador, they have made a significant and valuable contribution to the School.
- Have volunteered, in some capacity, for the Business School within the last 12 months.
- Have shown commitment and dedication to supporting the Business School, giving their time and energy to add value and contribute to the Business School’s success
- Has had a significant positive impact on members of the Bayes community
